Shooting it on an iphone seems like a gimmick if you still need 12k. I'm shooting a feature on a hv30, funding it out of my own pocket (I'm writer, producer, director, cameraperson, editor, props, location scout etc etc...). I would be mre interested to know what story I am investing in, don't care what you shoot it on.

This is another genius idea Ben. If this turns out half as great as it sounds, there will be ridiculous press surrounding it. Steve Jobs might even give you a kiss. Cant wait to see what you all come up with. Good luck Deltree!

@coach

You are totally right....

Why should people get paid for their time? Everything should be free!

That attitude is why musicians, artists, independent filmmakers, etc

Don't. get. paid.

Coach,
Don't forget they are going to be using real top notch crew, and the best technical equipment that they can find, to make it the best they possibly can. They need that funding.

I don't understand why you need a what is it... $12,000 budget for this. I've seen people make feature films for less than $3,000 that look great. and I'm talking about a feature that was shot on a real camera. THIS IS AN IPHONE!!! come on... do you really need a huge production budget for this? just go out and shoot it and edit it if you are that committed. Sorry but it seems kinda ridiculous to ask people to help fund a movie shot on a phone. haha. There's my 2 cents contributed

It goes somewhat into what Robert Pirsig writes about Quality in his book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Quality can be considered the basis of what we see and think, the moment just before we intellectually evaluate a work of art, the moment right before a tree becomes a "tree."

It's the initial instinct for something that represents Quality, taking the time to evaluate it is always good, but to really appreciate what surrounds us we should more often than not go "with our instincts," which is something all businesses need to keep in mind as they produce work.

Dear friend,

I am so thoroughly impressed by what you are doing here. Would be an honor to augment this desire to preserve the important things of this life. Would love the chance to pitch an idea to you that may be right up your street.

high regards
